To get you started with your new website, we have added several pages to serve as examples. In doing so, we wanted a variety of pages and content to introduce options that you will need to be familiar with, so you can make the most of your site. This FAQ page is a great example. To learn more about what we’re trying to teach you in this page example, read “About this page” below.

The following questions and answers may help you to develop your web site quickly and more effectively. To read them click on the question to reveal the answer.

That is by design! We wanted to make the default web site monochromatic and drab on purpose. Why? Because we wanted to encourage you to create a neat and cool web design. Let's face it, if this site was totally awesome out-of-the-box, you'd never change it and we'd have thousands of identical web sites out there eventually. Who would want that? So, take some time and make this site reflect you.

That's easy! Log-in to the website administrator, look to the toolbar in the lower left corner you'll find an option entitled "FAQ Manager". Click that, and away you go. Everything should be pretty self-explanatory from there.

This is very possible. In fact, there are several configuration options you can use to display your FAQs. There are several shortcode examples available under Settings->FAQ Shortcodes. You can even add a search tool to your FAQ section!

Not really, there are no built in display options with this plugin. However, with a little bit of CSS action (Cascading Style Sheets) you can really go to town. Check out another example of the FAQ at opportunex.com. I have included a bit of example code. Go to Pages->All Pages and select your FAQ page, under the main text box you will see a tab "CSS & JS". Click on that tab to explore the CSS options and alter them to fit your needs.

There are a whole bunch of cool utilities designed to help you display and organize information, images and other media on your site. We have already installed dozens of display utilities and fun tools for you to enjoy. These plugins are listed under Wealth Builder->Plugins & Content and are ready to be turned on or off. Some of the tools will automatically show up on your site once activated, others may require you to add a widget to your sidebar or even to add a shortcode to your content. Explore and have fun!

Yes! We are working on building our own site gallery at opportunex.com. There are a growing number of awesome sites developed with the PageLines framework. You can visit them here: http://www.pagelines.com/showcase/. We encourage you to look around and get some ideas.

Good point! If you're not a web designer, this is going to seem a bit overwhelming at first. It's easy to get lost in "optionville" and accomplish very little. Here's some quick advice:

  1. Plan your site. Know what images and text you want on each page before you start editing your site.
  2. Don't get too picky! Getting pixels to line up and everything laid out "just so" takes lots of time and experience. Just stick to the basics at first. Upload your logo, choose a font, colors and backgrounds. Focus on your content. Get it out there... let's make some money! And then you can hire a designer or take the time to learn to do it yourself.
  3. If you don't know what something is or does, leave it be. Search the social network and Google if you're really curious.

For the most part, your site will run itself and you'll learn new things along the way. Just don't get distracted from the goal. Let's make some money online!

There are three immediate things you can do. All of which are accessed from the Help Center at: http://www.oportunex.com/help-center/. From there, you can select the Q&A option and search for others who may have run into a similar snag. If not, post your question and someone will answer it soon. Next, there's the Support Forum. Make sure you search for a topic before you create a new thread (duplicate threads tend to annoy people). Finally, you can use the contact form to contact opportunex™ directly (please make this your last option.)

When you are done reading the questions and answers, click on “FAQ Manager” (located on the main, left-hand toolbar in your dashboard, if you’re logged-in click here) and add, edit and delete these questions and answers with your own.

About this page: Your FAQ page is based on a WordPress plugin that uses a “Short Code”. Short codes are little blocks of code that certain plugins use to place functions into your pages or posts. Short codes also give you lots of flexibility by allowing you to place them wherever you want to in your content. In this case, the short code for the FAQ plugin is [qa] (for questions and answers). Go to your FAQ page in the editor. Look in the main content area and you will see how we’ve placed the short code into the content block. Many plugins that you will encounter use this method. And now you know how it works!

Please Note: If you do not want to have an FAQ page, you don’t have to have one… just go ahead and delete this page or modify it to suit your needs.
